Performance Analysis is a privately held engineering and design firm established in 1989, which is currently servicing the Profesional Motorsports Industry. Performance Analysis is privately owned by Mark Whitney, a Mechanical Engineer with over 15 years experience in motorsports. In professional motorsports, Mark's experience can be broken up into 4 main areas.
The first area is product design. Mark has worked as a consultant to many different types of companies to develop products for different areas of motorsports. From radiator design for dirt track cars to thermal control on 9:1 compression NASCAR Busch Series Race Cars to driver seat safety products for any type of race car to padded ear cushions for radio head sets, product design consulting has been the main focus of Performance Analysis for many years.
The second area the Performance Analysis has been involved in has been Technical Writing. Since 1993, Mark has been Technical Editor for Trackside Magazine and has also been published in Dirt Late Model, Late Model Racer and Miami Engineer Magazines. Recently, Mark began to write for Stock Car Racing and Circle Track Magazines. The first article printed in the November 1999 issue.
Another area that Performance Analysis is involved in is Engineering Analysis. Others may call this Technical Analysis, but roughly defined it is using the Engineering disipline and current tools that the trade to solve problems or improve products and performance. Some of the tools that Performance Analysis has used in consulting for clients recently include Engine Analyzer Pro, Dynomation, SolidWorks, and RevWorks.
The final area that Performance Analysis is product manufacture. Working with multiple manufacturing facilities throughout the country, PA can provide manufacturing solutions for many different products in Motorsports, Professional Athletics and other thermal control or impact dissipation related industries.
